Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) were led to a yard manned by car theft syndicate located in Utawala, Nairobi.
According to reports, the Car theft syndicate was discovered after a car owner reported that his vehicle had been stolen at a repair shop along Kangundo Road.
The Detectives swung into action using the car’s tracker which led them to Utawala area in Nairobi. It is during the operation, the detectives successfully recovered numerous vehicles and vehicle parts.

Three individuals were arrested on site during the Thursday operation. The DCI officers have linked the trio to a sophisticated criminal syndicate known for targeting vehicles awaiting repairs.
According to detectives, the three suspects are believed to have conspired with the yard owner to steal the Toyota Allion and went ahead to dismantle it for sale as spare parts
Detectives stormed the yard whose owner was out of sight and made several recoveries including the reported Toyota Allion.
Other recoveries at the car yard included three unidentified Toyota Probox cars, a Toyota station wagon chassis, and rear lights belonging to one of the dismantled cars.

The officers were also able to recover eight box lorry containers, a Mitsubishi truck and assorted vandalized vehicle engine parts. Also, ten sets of vehicle registration plates were reclaimed, including a Toyota Allion fitted with a Toyota Premio bonnet, which was affixed with false registration plates.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations are still looking for the owner of the car yard and other accomplices that will help in the investigations into the matter.
