Police Officers based in Kilimani have recovered a total of 200 phones and laptops believed to be proceeds of theft after an arrest was made of two notorious phone snatchers in Nairobi.
Confirming the impound, Kilimani OCPD Moss Ndiwa said that the raid was done after several complains from the public in the area. The OCPD called upon the public and those who have lost their phones or laptops to visit Kilimani Police station to check if theirs is among the recovered lot.
“We appeal to members of the public who have been victims of phone snatching to come to Kilimani Police Station and see if they can find their phones.”

The OCPD used the opportunity to issue a warning to criminals that the police are on the lookout especially this festive season and they will continue conducting similar operations to flush out thieves.
Among the recovered items was the motorbike that is suspected to be used by the suspects in their operations as a get away method.
Phone snatchers in the city have made the boda boda their official getaway mode of transportation making it hard for the victim to chase after them especially on poor roads and in the middle of traffic snarl-ups.

Several boda boda riders have been arrested after being linked to phone snatchers syndicates in Nairobi that have been terrorising Nairobians especially in the CBD where they use the boda boda as a get away means through the traffic jams.
However, police have warned those involved in the activities that their days are numbered as the police are narrowing down on them using various links. The arrested are being held in Kilimani Police station pending arraignment in a court of law.
