Parents in Langas estate are in agony after a total of 32 children are reported missing without a trace in the Eldoret estate in the past three months.
According to reports, children as young as one year have been missing in Eldoret for three months now, with parents claiming that they were lured by strangers with sweets and other methods.
Eunice Akinyi, a mother of a one-year-old daughter, Witney Awour, who disappeared on March 3, 2024, spoke to the press explaining the events that led to her daughter’s disappearance weeks ago.

According to Akinyi, Witney was playing with other children near their estate gate in the Kambi Nyoka area when an unfamiliar woman approached. Promising sweets, the stranger lured Witney away under the guise of asking for directions to Eldoret town.
Another parent, Josephine Ongachi claims that she sent her daughter Elizabeth to a nearby shop for groceries and had returned home. However, when Josephine called her daughter moments later, she was nowhere to be found.
Another mother in agony, Jaspher Achieng claims that her daughter Joyline Imali has been missing for three months now expressed her frustration with the lack of progress in locating her child.
Achieng says that the disappearance has caused emotional turmoil for the rest of the family with her husband unable to work and her other children struggling in school.

On seeking assistance, Jaspher Achieng claims that she has tried all avenues possible with even alleging sexual harassment from a police officer to whom she had turned to for assistance.
Another similar incident has been reported in Nakuru where Caroline Kipnaigei claims that her 20-month-old child was taken by a maid. This has raised concerns among parents who are in fear of the safety of their children.
