A kenyan doctor has gone viral after revealing that he favoured the boy during c-section twin delivery by getting the boy first to ensure he becomes the older one.
The doctor who goes by the name Mbiti Mwodi on X has rattled emotions through his post on the same platform claiming that he intentionally extracted the baby boy first so that ‘he’d be called the elder of the two’.
According to Mbiti who according to his LinkedIn profile is a Medical Officer at the St. Damiano Mission Hospital in Bungoma did the successful surgery of the twins, the action was motivated by his urge to stand with the “boy child” hence his preference to bring out the boy first.

“A few minutes ago 2:00 am in theatre via CS, I just extracted the most beautiful twins I have ever seen; a boy and girl. I intentionally extracted the baby boy first so that he’d be called the elder one of the two. Boy child for boy child. Couldn’t help but ask the mum to consent.”
However, a section of kenyans have been angered by the tweet with some claiming that it was unprofessional, unethical and inappropriate for him to go to such extent, risking the lives of one or both twins.
Dr. Yusuf Mahat, an Ireland-based doctor called out Mbiti for his recklessness in the c-section twin delivery in a profession of high regard as the medical profession.

“You can’t possibly choose who to extract first. You always start with the presenting twin. Reaching out to extract a boy who might be far away can cause serious maternal-foetal harm. Let’s be cautious and maintain the dignity of our profession. Especially now that there’s turmoil! Choosing who to extract first is not a MEDICAL decision. Sad!”
Following the sustained criticism, Mwondi deleted his initial tweet, following it up with a sort of explanation meant to downplay his wisecracks, blaming ‘women’s perspective’ for the misunderstanding.
