Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah has issued a strong message to President Ruto over the sword remarks he made in Kisii. In Omtatah’s message to Ruto, the senator says he will be stopped.
According to the Senator, the President cannot make death threats thiking he is above the law. And if President William Ruto will not work within the law, he will be stopped.
This he said on a presser after he was turned away at Nyanchwa Police Station where he had gone to record a statement against the President saying his life was in danger due to the sword utterances that were made by President William Ruto.

The Senator said that the President cannot be taken to court while in office but he is not above the law. He can be held accountable even after he leaves office and therefore, he is not immune to the law
“My advice to him is that he is only unstoppable if he is operating within the law. The moment he steps outside the law, he is stopped by the constitution.”
Omtatah’s message to Ruto also took a dig on the President’s promises calling them road side declarations. This he said must be within the budget and not the way President William Ruto is doing it.

According to Omtatah, the feud with President Ruto is about chapter 12 of the constitution about public finances.
“We are going to do everything possible to remove money from his control as the treasury is not to be under the Ministry of finance but an independent entity serving the 48 governments, 47 Counties and one national government equally.”
Omtatah also claimed there is budgeted corruption in government where they use the budget to steal from kenyans and they will ensure that comes to a stop.
This comes after the President said that he will use the sword to slash those opposing Government’s projects through the court.
