Nyambaria High-school Principal has been suspended by the National examinations body for allegations of exam irregularities on Tuesday.
The principal, Charles Onyari was the Center manager in the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examination.
Nyambaria High-school in Nyamira county topped the 2022 national examinations after the announcement by the Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.
According to reports, the suspension was made by the Teacher Service Commission after a recommendation by the National examinations governing body, KNEC.
However, the reports indicate that the principal has been suspended as a center manager and Not as the principal of the school pending further investigations.
Suffering the same fate is the Sub-County director of education in Manga, Nyamira County who has been suspended over the same allegations by the Ministry.

A senior Kenya National Examination Council official confirmed the suspension saying the principal was involved in malpractices at the school. He added that the council wants to end the impunity once and for all.
According to reports, the suspension did not in any way affect the examinations as the examinations continued without any issues. However, two more other principals from the county have been arrested for the same.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigation has however not released a statement concerning the arrest. It was noted that the principal was taken to the Nyamira Police Station to record a statement.
“We have been following the DCI since morning but they have refused to release a statement on the charges levelled against the Principal.” a source told News Projector.
The National examinations is on it’s first week of theory and the third day today as thr council puts in tougher measures to ensure high Integrity.
