The Nigerian Government through the Nigerian High Commission statement has warned and advised her citizens in Kenya to be vigilant and avoid unnecessary movements.
This comes after a series of recent murders that have allegedly linked the Nigerian nationals to the crimes. The recent one being at Roysambu where a 24 year old was butchered and her head missing with a Nigerian prime suspin custody.
The Nigerian High Commission Statement has been released due to the ongoing tension that was sparked by the murder of JKUAT student that has waved against Nigerians in the country.

The notice has also urged Nigerian citizens to remain calm and continue to be law-abiding members of the public as the law takes it’s course to get the truth behind the recent murders.
“Nigerians are advised to be vigilant and to avoid unnecessary movements even as investigations are ongoing and formal communication from the host law enforcement authorities are awaited.”
The Commission also warned Kenyans to desist from sharing disinformation about Nigerians online and only post information that is credible and accurate. This is to ensure that no more negative influence is inflicted to the general public to spark hate between nationals.
“Furthermore, we wish to implore well-meaning members of the public to desist from disinformation and to refer all enquiries to appropriate channels in order to ascertain accurate information.”

According to the Nigerian High Commission, proper action and necessary steps will be taken against all those sharing fake and false information online in accordance with the law.
“The High Commission is also taking proper note of the channels through which such disinformation is being shared and would like to assure that necessary action, within the scope of international law and extant legal provisions of the host authorities, will be invoked as appropriate.”
