Reports received by NewsProjector indicate that Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of Athlete in Eldoret – Edward Kiplangat alias Benjamin.
Edward Kiplangat was found murdered on Sunday and his body was found in a car in Texas near Kimumu Secondary School along the Eldoret-Iten Road. An abandoned motorcycle was also found next to the vehicle.
According to Moiben sub-county police commander Stephen Okal, the two suspects have been arrested included a boda boda rider in the region with the knife suspected to have been used to stab and murder of athlete in Eldoret recovered from the suspects.

“We have the two suspects in custody and they have been positively identified. We have cast our net wide as we go on with investigations to arrest anyone else involved.”
Police confirm that the two were wanted criminals who had been tormenting residents of the region for long. However motive of the killing appeared to be a criminal incident and police said that a mobile phone and money were stolen from the athlete.
According to reports, the body of Kiplangat was found with a deep cut on the neck on Sunday and identified the victim as an athlete who was well-known in the region.
Sources indicate that the athlete attended a meeting with fellow athletes near Nyaru area in Elgeyo Marakwet before he left at about midnight on Sunday before meeting his untimely death in the hands of the two prime suspects.

However, police have confirmed that the suspects are in custody as more leads are being followed pending arraignment in court for murder.
Athletics Kenya (AK) officials have urged the police to conduct speedy investigations and bring the perpetrators to book.
