New details have emerged after a woman’s body was exhumed by police officers in an operation to exhume bodies suspected to be buried in shallow graves in a home in Trans Nzoia
According to reports, police officers who were accompanied by homicide detectives were tipped by locals of a suspicious activities in the compound before obtaining permission to exhume.
Two suspects have since been arrested in connection with the suspected criminal syndicate that led to the discovery of the woman’s body buried in a shallow grave, in Trans Nzoia.

However, latest report indicate that the duo was not running a cult as it was earlier on feared to be and the only body that was discovered in the compound was a woman’s body who has since been identified as Alice Chemutai.
The two suspects are said to have been robbers who have been terrorising residents and were found in possession of stolen items include a motorcycle, assorted mobile phones, and a pair of jungle police uniforms.
Detectives from Kiminini Subcounty and a team from the county visited the scene following information from members of the public when they saw a freshly dug grave disguised as a mud hole for plastering a three-room house at the said compound.
That’s when detectives exhumed a woman’s body in the shallow grave wrapped in a blanket without a coffin. The woman who was exhumed is believed to be the wife of one of the robbery suspects in custody.

Even though police are yet to establish the motive of the incident, A postmortem examination will be conducted on the body to determine the cause of death.
