A day after a medical intern at Gatundu was found hanging on her balcony in what was termed as a suicide, new details have emerged after the family shared details of her suicide note.
According to reports by the police, Dr Desree Moraa Obwogi, a medical intern doctor at Gatundu Hospital was found dead on the balcony of her bedroom apartment on Sunday night after committing suicide.
Police who visited the scene confirmed that they found her body dangling near a balcony with a rope tied around her neck on the fourth floor of the apartment where she was staying alone.

It was not immediately established what led to her suicide but new details from the family indicate that they found a suicide note and indicated that the motive of her actions was because of the workload at the hospital
The family and friends claim that she was the only medical intern at the hospital in the department of surgery and her shifts included round-the-clock 12-hour shifts that sometimes stretched into 36 hours.
According to fellow interns, Dr Moraa’s struggled to meet basic needs, such as rent and utility bills, compounded by relentless demands from supervisors and consultants, reflect a systemic failure that has left many of us feeling isolated and unsupported.
“Her untimely death, reportedly by suicide, highlights a dire situation that has persisted within our ranks-one marked by overwhelming financial constraints and a toxic work environment,” interns said in a statement.
