Days after drama emerged at the Makadara Law Courts leading to the shooting of Magistrate Monica Kivuti by an arned Police Officer who was later shot dead, new details have emerged about the wife of the officer who killed Kivuti.
The new details that have been revealed by Lawyer Nelson Havi has sent chills down to kenyans online after Havi revealed that the wife of the officer was presented in court on life support and still denied bond.

According to reports, the police officer who shot Monica Kivuti was triggered by the fact that the magistrate cancelled the bond because of missing court sessions despite the accused being on life support in court.
Havi revealed that the wife of the officer who was battling cancer and in palliative care and that’s why she missed from appearing in court hence the decision by the magistrate to deny her bail.
“An inquiry must be undertaken by the JSC, the Director of Public Prosecutions, and the National Police Service to establish the circumstances under which the Honourable Magistrate is alleged to have cancelled the bond of an accused person we understand was undergoing palliative care for cancer, and is said to have been brought to Court on life support equipment.”
The former Law Society of Kenya described the decision by Magistrate Kivuti as an inconsiderate, inhumane, and injudicious act. Havi further called on investigations by the relevant authorities even though the perpetrator is dead to give his side of the story.

“Sad as it may be, this is the difficult question that must be asked and answered without skirting around. And it must be so, now that the assailant policeman is dead and unavailable for his side of the story or retribution.”
