Speaking on X, Formerly Twitter, The Presidential Advisor, David Ndii has said that the “Dynasty Brothers” should’ve won the elections. This is because they created a mess they should’ve inherited instead of leaving for others to clean.
According to Ndii, President Uhuru Kenyatta did nothing to address the debt crisis. He thus chose to “burn the forex reserves” to prop up both the shilling and the interest rates artificially.
The President’s chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors has called upon kenyans to brace themselves as the debts mature. Adding that the situation is now worse with the decline of the shilling against the dollar.
”If US rates don’t ease for markets to open for frontier economies. It’s a wing and a prayer. Over to you churchgoers.”
In a series of posts on his account, Ndii said that Uhuru left a debt legacy nightmare that is making it hard for President William Ruto. This has made it almost impossible to govern the country due to debts. Thus made him think that had kenya kwanza lost elections, it could’ve been fair. Because then the handshake brothers could have inherited their mess.
”Uhuru’s debt legacy nightmare. A trillion domestic redemption in 2023. It’s a miracle we’ve not defaulted. Foreign redemptions double in 2024. Now we become the falls guys for biting bullet. You don’t know how often I wish we lost the election to see the dynasty brothers wading in their mess.”
According to the Treasury, Kenya’s public debts has hit the new high despite the President promises of minimising loans. According to a report, the debt is due to the external loan disbursement, unstable rate fluctuations and uptake of domestic and external debt.
David Ndii has remained controversial with his tweets. Often saying that he won’t hide kenyans from the reality. He has, not once, called kenyans to brace themselves even for more tougher times ahead.
