“For the past days, the plenary sittings have unfortunately degenerated into regrettable disorder and chaos. This is happening despite the existence of express provisions of our standing orders that governs how members should conduct themselves during the proceedings.”
“Today, yet again we are witnessing actions by a section of members who have decided to disregard the Constitution, legal statutes and our standing orders and instead, resorted to courting anarchy inside this dignified house.”
Consequently, the Speaker announced the immediate adjournment of the Assembly, stating that it would be suspended indefinitely, with a date for resumption to be communicated later.
“Based on this continuous disregard to our standing orders, an affront to the Constitution, statutes, and lack of respect to the authority of the seat of the Speaker, I once again wish to invoke the provisions of Standing Order 110 and adjourn this House forthwith, to a date to be communicated.”
