“The recruitment exercise will enable the county to have its own drivers and plant operators. The recruitment is timely, we have an aged workforce, most of our current drivers will be over 55 years in the next few years and will be retiring. Had we failed to recruit drivers now we would have a lot of problems in the future.”
The appointments will go a long way in reducing joblessness within the county. With more youths facing the wrath of joblessness. This is a good move to ensure that ageing staff and workers are replaced in time for the new staff to gain experience for a smooth and effective transition.
This comes after the Nairobi Governor, Johnson Sakaja promised to hire more than 2500 youths in a bid to keep Nairobi County clean. He also promised to add 1000 more in the coming days as allocations are put in place.
