Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has come out to explain why the crowd chanted Ruto Must Go in Baringo. Murkomen heckled in Baringo coming weeks after a similar instance in Bomet.
The CS had attended the County Governor’s Cup in Baringo hosted by Baringo Governor, Benjamin Cheboi. The crowd then started shouting Ruto Must Go when Murkomen rose to speak to the crowd and heckled him.
Murkomen through X has said that the crowd was agitated due to the postponement and the subsequent loss of a match. This is where Baringo Central FC, which was the home team protested the loss against Chemogoch FC.

Being the home team, they had massive crowds that overwhelmed the officials who tried to calm the crowd to no avail. This made it impossible for the match to continue due to the commotion that was happening.
Ruto Must Go explained.
The fans being dissatisfied, they aired out their frustrations especially to one Mr Ruto who was the FKF match official. Ruto was not addressing their concerns as the home fans and thus led to the chants Ruto Must Go.
The clip that has been doing rounds on socila media has sparked a debate whether the rulling party has lost support even in their own backyard. But Murkomen has rubbished those claims saying it was purely football and the chants were not related to politics.
Murkomen heckled in Baringo comes weeks after Petroleum and Mining Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir was heckled in Bomet in the presence of President William Ruto. This is after the minister was linked to the businesswoman Anne Njeri over the 17 Billion oil Scandal.
Murkomen however called on the leaders especially Governor Cheboi to resolve the matter that arose and hold the men’s final in Kapenguria.
