The Parliamentary Education Committee has confirmed to have invited Education CS in Parliament on Thursday to shed more light to the examination discrepancies experienced in the results released last week.
Led by the National Assembly Education Committee chairman Julius Melly, who’s also the Tinderet member of Parliament, the members now want both Ezekiel Machogu and David Njegere to appear before them.
“As members of the Committee on Education, we have invited the CS to come before us to give a brief of the cause of the errors and the myriad of mistakes. Knec will come with the minister as well.”
The MP said that errors like learners getting same marks in one subject in a particular school is not a matter of coincidence. With the same marks awarded different grades. Tough questions should be asked to the Education CS in Parliament.

“And why some students who scored 75 marks, one is graded as an A while the other is graded B- for the same marks? Those are the questions we want to ask.”
The results have caused confusion in the ministry of education with the ministry mantaining that only 133 candidates were erred. But statistics show otherwise as more schools and candidates come forward to show possible errors in their results. The Education csin parliament will shed more light.
KNEC however called a crisis meeting on Sunday to discuss these concerns which they say have been addressed. This was done to find a solution amid protests from schools, parents and candidates.
This will be a busy week for Ministry of Education and KNEC in general as in addition to the summon by MPs, the set are required to appear in court. This will be to answer to a petition filed by Kitengela International School stopping the Form One Placement process.
