The Member of Parliament, South Mugirango Sylvanus Osoro has denied the allegations leveled against him. This is after EACC summoned him on Wednesday. Osoro claims that the case is a political strategy by a political operative he named as RG.
The Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission summoned Osoro on Wednesday on grounds of bribery. The majority whip found himself in hot soup after utterances he made in Bomet. He admitted to be receiving bribes from MPs in order to approve their trips abroad.
Through a letter by his Lawyer Adrian Kamotho addressed to EACC, he claims that the allegations are “false and baseless”. He is also alleging that a political operative by the name RG is the one colluding with officers to bring him down at “whatever cost”
“Plausible material has been laid before us, pointing to collateral interventions and orchestrations by a political operative codenamed RG. Who has been piling pressure on certain EACC officers to persecute our client at whatever cost.”
“Notwithstanding the political machinations, our client has no doubt that he will effortlessly be able to prove his innocence if so required. This is to restore the phenomenal trust and public confidence that he has diligently cultivated over the years.”
The lawyer also noted the “good moral behaviour” of the MP calling him a professional leader with no history of misconduct.
“Unequivocally, our client avers that the allegations being peddled against him are absolutely false and baseless. Our client is a paragon of virtue, who has perpetually conducted himself in the most professional and ethical manner.”
“Our client has never engaged in any conduct whatsoever, that would warrant the sensational accusations being recklessly levelled against him.”
However, the lawyer went ahead to say that the Member of Parliament is currently out of the country. But will offer his maximum cooperation when it comes to investigations
