Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has hinted on the possibility of naming and shaming corrupt government officials starting January 2024. This will be the Moses Kuria proposals in public service ministry.
Speaking during the Huduma Ombudsman Awards at the Kenya International Convention Center (KICC),Moses Kuria said that the move is aimed at discouraging corruption in the country.
This will boost transparency in government services and kenyans will be saved from corruption once and for all. This he said will do by holding monthly press conferences for the same.

The move is set to touch on various national government entities, county governments, and law enforcement agencies. This will include the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) and the National Police Service.
“We will tell you, this officer asked for this amount. This police station is corrupt and so much more. We will have to name and shame people who are denying Kenyans justice through delayed service, misuse of power, and other forms.”
The CS went further and said that even if the government and the relevant authorities will not do anything, he will do it. Saying that it will be a ritual to be performed monthly without fail.
“Even if we will not do anything about it, on a monthly basis we will have a non-failing ritual of naming and shaming.”
However, in October, Kuria announced plans to form a call center that will collect information from kenyans on various issues. The center will receive information about civil servants who aren’t working as required by the law.
This therefore adds to the Moses Kuria proposals list since the Cabinet reshuffle. It’s unclear when he will achieve them as the promises keep piling.
