The High Court has today postponed a murder case for Jacque Maribe and Jowie Irungu as the co accused to next year.
This marks the third time that the court has suspended the case against the two where they are accused of murdering one Monica Kimani in Nairobi. The court has set the hearing to January 2024.
The judgment was initially set to be issued on October 6, 2023 but was postponed to December 15th after Lady Justice Grace Nzioka was reported to be ill and couldn’t go ahead with the rulling.

Today, Justice Nzioka said she was yet to complete scrutinizing part of the exhibits that were submitted to her on Monday this week and therefore could not issue a rulling thus postponing it to a later date as she scrutinizes the exhibits submitted to her late.
According to Nzioka, “three gunny bags” of exhibits were submitted and this includes clothing, bottles among others. Therefore held her judgement to a later date.
Maribe and Jowie Irungu have been accused of conspiring in the murder of the businesswoman. According to the prosecution, Maribe did not provide information to the police only to be seen on TV airing the news.

“At no point did she provide information to police about the murder, only to be seen on Citizen TV the following day announcing the death of Monica when she was fully aware of what had happened.”
However, postmortem results indicated that Monica Kimani did not die of natural caused as her death was caused by excessive bleeding due to a neck injury as testified by Dr Peter Ndengwa.
The judgement has been set on January 26th 2024 after the court and Justice Nzioka has gone through the latest exhibits presented to the court.
