A man who allegedly was involved in attacking police officer and stealing his anti-riot police gun in Kisumu has finally been arrested, police can now confirm.
According to reports, Sostine Otieno who is the suspect was part of a gang of goons who invaded Bondo Police Station armed with crude weapons and attacked police officers manning the station.

Confirming the reports, Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said that the goons was armed with stones, catapults, slings, petrol bombs and other concealed weapons at the time of attack.
In the report, DCI claims that the goons led by Sostine Otieno seriously injured several police officers, maliciously destroyed property and robbed an anti-riot gun from a police officer.
“Already, one of the suspects (Sostine Otieno) captured in a phone recording attacking a police officer and leaving him sprawled on the tarmac before robbing him of his anti-riot gun (launcher) has been arrested.”
The gun was also recovered from the suspect as police continue to pursue other suspects who have been named as accomplices. One injured officer is also said to be admitted in critical condition at a Bondo hospital.
However, other officers who were injured in the commotion have been treated and discharged. Police have also asked members of the public with any information about the suspects to come forth and help with investigations.

This comes a day after the Ministry of Interior released a statement saying that all suspects recorded on camera destroying property and committing crimes will be arrested and prosecuted as soon as possible.
