A 65 year old man in Naivasha set himself on fire over what reports indicate is domestic wrangles that have clouded his life for the past few years.
The Friday morning incident in Maai Mahiu, Naivasha shocked villagers who watched in disbelief as the man went up in flames.
According to reports, the man has had a history of failed marriages first departed with his wife two years ago after a domestic quarrel. However, he remarried three months ago but he again quarrelled with the wife who fled the house hours before he decided to take his own life.

The second wife who fled hours before the deceased torched himself said that he was threatening her and her life was in danger. Thus she decided to flee for safety.
Onlookers say that the man locked himself in the family’s house at Boresha estate before pouring petrol all over his body and striking the matchstick.
Efforts to save the man were futile as the man was had locked himself inside and the fire was intense keeping people away as they watched helplessly in horror.

Shocking revelations according to villagers is that two weeks ago, the man allegedly tried to kill himself by hanging but was rescued by a neighbour who cut off a rope just in time.
