Three men were on Tuesday burnt to death for suspicion of motorbike theft in Kisumu and among them was last year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidate.
The three were cornered by a mob in Manyatta B area in Kisumu after they were allegedly accused of stealing a motorbike in the area. That’s when the mob took the law into their hands and torched them.
According to reports, the last year’s KCPE candidates was yet to join Form One after completing his primary education last year. However, due to lack of fees, his admission was delayed till today when he was caught up in a motorbike theft syndicate.

The other person in the gang was also identified as a recent form four leaver who was living together with the other two. However, the third victim was yet to be identified and any details about him presented to the media.
A source privy to NewsProjector said that the three were flushed out of their house where they were living together, beaten thoroughly before they were burnt.
“The three young men were forcefully fished from their house on Tuesday morning, beaten thoroughly and later burned. The young man who just recently sat for his KCPE begged to be spared, even promising to speak the truth, but his pleas fell on deaf ears.”
The three were torched in front of the house they were living in before the police arrived at the scene. Officers from Kasagam Police station responded but it was too late.

The three bodies were taken to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital Morgue awaiting autopsy. The police have also launched investigations into the incident. Members of the public have been urged to avoid taking the law into their hands.
