Most of the messages had cryptic messages with others saying “We will deal with you”, and “Your days are numbered”. Most of these responses were over his coverage of the protests for the past few weeks.
However, the renown journalist replied to these accounts with “I am unbwogable” which is slang for unbowed and that he will continue to do what he does best even with Intimidations and threats.
Most Kenyans also defended Madowo and even assured him of his safety adding that they would protect him from the undisclosed suspects looking to intimidate him.
They also asked the journalist not to be swayed and should confidently cover the upcoming Tuesday protests. Kenyans on the socials also urged Madowo to ignore the suspects sending him threats with some alleging that high-profile officials were behind the threats.
“Those are cowards who can never even come out to face you. Ignore them Larry and carry on your work, the world is seeing you. If you feel threatened by Larry’s reporting, change your ways instead.”
