A Standard Media Group (KTN) journalist has gone into hiding after receiving death threats by a prominent political figure for political coverage.
According to reports, Osinde Obare, a KTN Journalist claims that his coverage of the chaos witnessed at a burial ceremony in Trans-Nzoia County last week has rubbed senior politician the wrong way and has since gone into hiding.
The burial ceremony that was held on March 22nd saw chaos erupt after two groups from opposing camps disagreed which forced police officers to throw teargas to disperse the unrully crowd.

However, the journalist claims that his coverage of proceedings on that particular day has rubbed senior politicians the wrong way, adding that he has since received threats to his life.
The journalist further lamented that the area police were yet to make arrests following his report. The people allegedly threatening him are well-known in the particular area.
“On Monday I heard movements outside my house, and people knocking roughly. I told my wife to stay quiet as the people knocking were not talking. We waited until they left.”
This has forced the journalist to go into hiding and is calling the government and police in the area to rein in the persons issuing threats to him.
This becomes the second time that the journalist is finding himself on a rough path after he was assaulted while covering news along Kitale-Kapenguria road back in February.
