However, the CEO said that the pupils will receive their before they proceed to Junior Secondary Schools. KPSEA results release date was set then because marking is still ongoing.
Therefore, the CEO noted that the results will be released in three reports; Individual learners, school-specific reports and the national report on school-based and summative assessment.
The national report will highlight the areas that require assistance as well as the number of learners at each performance level per topic who require intervention.
The individual school report will be tailored to each school and will highlight areas where students face difficulties and where schools require further assistance.
During the release, the Ministry also noted that a total of 9,354 candidates did not sit for their national examinations despite having registered for it.
This prompted the ministry to create time on January for a special exam that will allow the candidates who missed this year’s KCPE exams to sit for it. This is because it will be the last set of exams to be done in the current system.
Therefore, parents of the children that failed to sit for the exams will get a sigh of relief as the government will set aside a special exam to ensure that every candidate gets to sit for his/her KCPE exams.
