The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has listed Counties that will experience power blackout on Wednesday for the better part of the day (January 31st.)
According to KPLC, the power blackout on Wednesday is necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrade power lines to the national grid. Counties set to experience power blackout include Nairobi, Kajiado, Machakos and Embu Counties.

NAIROBI COUNTY
Karen Hospital, Karen C Primary and Secondary, Hillcrest, Fair Acres, Silanga Road, Marist Road, Don Bosco, Light Academy Kuwinda Estate/Village, Mukinduri Estate/Road, Murishu Road, Forest Edge, Amara Ridge, Mokoiyet East, Academy Road, Langata North Road, Muiri, Karen Green, Kufuga Road, Karen The Well Mall and adjacent customers
KAJIADO COUNTY
The areas affected include; Barabara Mpya, Asyana Hotel, Citam, Parts of Merisho Road, Kimani Road/Mage Road, Ongata Rongai Academy, Victoria Lane, Part of Gataka Road (Mwai St Mary’s Nakeel School), Mayor Road, Masai Lodge Road/Hotel, Whole of Olekasasi, A/B Manna Bible, Part of Kware, Saitoti Hospital, Nazarene University, Tuala, Kwa Wabukala, Wambutura, Part of Rangau (Maina Njenga), Emakoko/Ngurunga and adjacent customers
MACHAKOS COUNTY
The areas affected include; Muthama Heights, Lone View Apartments, Best Homes, Makumbi, Apple Tree Apartments, Pissy Apartments, Astrol, Dinku, Stamet Products, Hilton Garden Inn, Banbros, Nation Printers, Signode, Steel Wool Africa, San Pac, Scania, MRM, Doshi MEDS and adjacent customers

The areas affected include; Mutunduri, Kirigi, Manyatta Police, Kigari Teachers College, Mungania T/Factory, Thigingi Girls, Kairuri, Karuriri, Kirigi, Muchagori C/F, Kianjokoma, Kiriari Girls, Kavutiri, Maciara, Mugui, Miandari and adjacent customers
According to the utility firm, the power blackout on Wednesday will be experienced from approximately 8 AM to 5 PM after which, power supply will be restored in the affected areas.
Customers are advised to seek alternative power sources for the day.
