Kenyans across the country have reported a national power blackout on Sunday evening. This marks the third time the country has been plunged into darkness within a few months.
Kenyans took to their social media platforms to share their frustrations on how the monopoly of the company has done more damage than good.
According to reports, the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) was in the receiving end of the blackout after the generators failed to act as the power back up. This has had netizens talking about Transport CS, Murkomen who in the last occurrence promised kenyans that it won’t happen again.
Other kenyans on social media believe that “The move to privatize Kenya Power is cooking pretty well. The sabotage at KPLC seems to be very calculated and geared towards privatization with the claim that it will make service delivery better. This is a long game being played. JKIA & nationwide blackouts can’t be accidents.” Bravin Yuri commented.

With other kenyans believing that its just mere electricity faults, others believe its some sort of smuggling going on through the country’s entry points.
This is however according to various voices through social media and remain unconfirmed reports.
KPLC in a statement release has confirmed the power national power blackout and said they are doing everything possible to ensure power restoration as soon as possible
The power company said that the cause of the National Power Blackout is a suspected fault affecting the system. They have advised customers to remain calm as they sort the issue.
