The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has listed areas that will experience Thursday power blackout across the country.
A total of five Counties will be without power for the better part of Thursday to allow the power company conduct its repairs.
The counties affected include Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nyeri, Kiambu and Kirinyaga Counties. Customers in these regions have been advised to seek alternatives for power.

ELGEYO MARAKWET
Areas to be affected in Elgeyo Marakwet include Murkutwo, Chesongoch, Kapkobil, Kabetwa, Tot, Tot Mango Factory, Soko Bora, Barberi, Chebilil, Sangach, Samballat, Liter & adjacent customers.
NANDI COUNTY
In Nandi, the areas affected by Thursday power blackout include Kapchebisir, Tulon, Kapkagaron, Kipchuno, Tulon Sec, Lolmengengai, Tulon Quarry, Lutieti & adjacent customers
NYERI COUNTY
KPLC noted that in Nyeri, parts of Gikondi, Muthuthini, Kaharo & adjacent customers will be without power for the day.
KIAMBU COUNTY.
In Kiambu, areas to be affected include Kisii Est, Leather Industries, Landless, Thika Barracks, Macheo, Gatuanyaga, Salama, Pakjel & adjacent customers.

In addition, Other areas include; Farmers Choice Factory, Palak Steel Mills, Carbacid Fact, Kijabe Boys, Kijabe Hosp, Uplands Police Stn, Nyambare, Githironi, Nyamweru, Murengeti, Mutosi, Kinyogori, Gititha, Kimeende, Lari, Magina, Kinale, Soko Mjinga, Kamae, Mathore, Kijabe, Escarpment, Kabunge, Kijabe & adjacent customers
KIRINYAGA COUNTY.
The affected areas in Kirinyaga include; Thiba Pri & Sec, Thiba Maendeleo, Thiba Soweto, Thiba North, Thiba South, Thiba H/Center, Thiba Chief’s Camp, Karima, Mbui Njeru, Rurumi Block & adjacent customers.
According to KPLC, the power interruption is necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrade power lines to the network to avoid future power interruptions.
However, Kenya Power noted that the power will be restored before close of business on Thursday as power will be expected to be back by 5 PM in the evening.
