The Ministry of Education has promised Kenyans that moving forward, the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) shall have an examination results website specifically meant for examination release.
This comes after the ministry of education and KNEC in general blamed the SMS service providers for the discrepancies that were witnessed in the release of the KCPE 2023 results last month.
Appearing before the Senate committee, The Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has assured kenyans that such errors will not be seen again starting from the release of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results.

The minister said that his ministry and KNEC in general is considering an option of developing a website meant for examination release only. A website that he said will not charge parents to access results.
“Moving forward when we release the KCSE examinations, it means we will not use SMS service providers. I am already engaging the ICT department to see whether we can be able to develop a website that members of the public can be able to access free of charge without paying Ksh. 25 that was being paid to the SMS service providers.”
The minister insisting that the KCSE results will not be accessed through the SMS due to the errors that were witnessed with the delivering of KCPE 2023 Results.
Machogu however said they are still engaging with the ICT department and even if the examination results website will not be ready by then, the parents can access the results through the School portals terming the portal as the most reliable source of credible results.
Machogu has however insisted that the results are genuine and he insisted that avery error that was witnessed has been solved and the placement of students in various high schools is ongoing.
