The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has finally released withheld KCSE 2023 Results for some of the schools that didn’t receive their results during the release that happened early this month.
A total of 4,113 candidates did not receive their results during the release of the 2023 KCSE results. The Ministry of Education through KNEC flagged the results to conduct investigations over exam malpractice.
Kisii’s Cardinal Otunga High School, Mosocho was among the first cohort of the schools that received their withheld KCSE 2023 Results on Friday with the school management showing their relief over the same.

According to the school management, a total of 432 students sat for the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams and their results were withheld by KNEC over suspicion of exam irregularities.
However, all students have now received their exams and the school recorded a 100% transition to University. With various sources alleging that the exemplary performance is what led to their results be withheld by the examination council.
Cardinal Otunga principal Albert Ombiro confirmed the reports saying that the school has finally received their results and all Candidates will go to university.
“I wish to inform the general public that we finally have 100% of the results and their results are very impressive because all of them are transiting to the university.”

Nyakongo Secondary School was also exonerated from the exam malpractice allegations after KNEC released withheld results of the entire 2023 KCSE cohort of 263 students. In addition, Mabera Secondary in Migori County also received their results.
However, various schools are yet to receive their withheld results. In Nandi County, Samoei Secondary is yet to receive or get a communication from KNEC. They will have to wait longer as the special committee constituted by the Ministry of Education will decide their fate.
