Parents, guardians and candidates who received theur results on Monday have raised concerns about changing grades in KCSE 2023 results at the exam portal.
According to various sources, parents complained that top-performing students reported unexpectedly lower grades when they rechecked their result portal, while those who had struggled suddenly saw a remarkable improvement whrn they tried to confirm by rechecking.
Responding to reports, the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has said that it was a technical hitch that led to alterations of candidates’ grades in the just released KCSE results. However, they have rectified the changing grades in KCSE as of today (Wednesday).
The examination council added that the real results have been sent to the school portal and the students can access them through the school they sat their exams in. And those are now the real results.
“There was a technical hitch that has since been rectified and the same results have been sent to the school portal. Those are the actual results and principals can download them.”
Parents reported that theur students were worried on what is the actual grade. Others celebrating and after going back to re confirm the results only to find a different grade than the one seen at first.
“There is a problem with the portal. The morning results are different when we downloaded. And now the results are different. We don’t know what to do or what to believe.”
