Former Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi has graduated from a New York University with a degree in Happiness, NewsProjector can confirm. The Kiraitu Murungi Happiness degree is one of a kind in Kenya.
The former governor shared pictures on Thursday morning confirming the milestone in New York. According to reports, the degree programme lasts for one year in the Happiness Studies.
“I am happy to announce that I successfully completed a one-year Degree Course in Happiness Studies from the Happiness Studies Academy (HSA) and graduated. I am now fully equipped to spearhead the happiness revolution in my motherland.”
Murungi who lost his first elections during the 2022 General Elections to Kawira Mwangaza, was his first loss in his political career of 30 years.

The former governor now adds the Happiness Degree to his Masters Degree from Havard University has expressed his job in getting the degree saying he’ll use it to spearhead happiness revolution in Kenya.
On Wednesday while giving a talk at the Kenya Methodist University, Murungi said that money cannot bring happiness. And believes that happiness is not based on money.
“Money has been given a bad name. Some say it is the course of our unhappiness and stress but based on my own studies which are based on psychology studies, we need to rethink money.”
It’s however unclear if the former governor went for the degree for his own good or to add on his accolades to further his political career. With his masters from Havard, the latter seems unlikely as he is well equipped academically to sail through his political interests in Kenya.
