A kenyan man, Kevin Kang’ethe who was accused of killing girlfriend at US Airport and fleeing to Kenya has escaped from Kenyan Police custody weeks after being apprehended.
Kevin Kang’ethe wanted by the Massachusetts Police in the US was arrested in the country after fleeing the US and was at the Muthaiga Police Station up to the time of his escape.
Kang’ethe had killed his girlfriend also a Kenyan Nurse by the name Margaret Mbitu and left her body in Boston Airport before fleeing into the country.

Reports from US indicate that Kang’ethe and the woman were in a relationship which ended before Kang’ethe requested to meet her at the airport before he flew back to Nairobi.
Details of the case revealed that the late Mbitu had sustained knife wounds on the neck, face and on her side near the chest area.
Kang’ethe was arrested by Kenyan police on January 29 while at a club in the Westlands Area, after the police were tipped off by the public.
Confirming the escape, The Nairobi Police Boss, Adamson Bungei said he rushed to the station when he learned of the escape. However, the circumstances surrounding his escape is an embarrassment to the Kenyan Police

“We have arrested the officers who were on duty when he escaped to explain how it happened. It is just embarrassing to us.”
According to reports, Kang’ethe walked out of the Police station and boarded a matatu which he used to escape from the scene. Reports indicate that Kang’ethe met with a man who claimed to be his lawyer and left him at the station before fleeing.
Upon realising that the man had fleed from captivity, the police made a chase but couldn’t spot him and Kevin Kang’ethe is still at large.
