Kenyans have reacted after photos and videos circulated showing Nakuru residents stealing and getting away with maize from a trailer involved in an accident earlier today.
The accident that saw eight people confirmed dead happened along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway and several other people were injured when the trailer rammed into a 14-seater matatu.
Kenyans have shown their disappointments in what has now become a routine whenever an accident occurs in highways. The tendency of rushing to loot possessions instead of helping those injured and trapped has caused an uproar among netizens.

According to a video circulated online and seen by NewsProjector, area residents are seen at the door of the trailer’s carriage pulling out what is believed to be sacks of maize.
Others are seen carrying the sacks on their heads as the police try to intervene to try to stop people from looting the trailer that was involved in the accident. However, the numbers of residents was overwhelming taking time for police to control the situation.
Witnesses claim that the matatu stopped at an undesignated area prompting an oncoming trailer to ram into it and drag it for a distance causing this unfortunate incident that has claimed lives in the last day of 2023.
However, kenyans have shown their dissatisfaction with the incident claiming that that is a scene that is so unfortunate. Although most kenyans have sided with the looters claiming that the high cost of living has pushed kenyans to do the unthinkable and therefore the government is to blame.
