Kenyans have shown mixed reactions after Rwanda’s President failed to include Rigathi Gachagua as a dignitary in Kagame’s social media post despite attending the event.
This came after the Rwanda President posted a photo together with Rigathi Gachagua and other dignitaries who attended the 60th Anniversary of the Zanzibar Revolution Celebrations held in Tanzania on Friday. He named the other dignitaries but failed to name Rigathi Gachagua despite sitting next to him.
Kenyans have questioned how the President’s social media team failed to notice Kenya’s Deputy President with most saying that it was done on purpose while others saying “it’s just a post”.

Kagame’s social media post was shared online and was pictured sitting between Gachagua and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni. However, while Kagame recognised leaders who attended the meeting in the caption, there was no mention of Kenya’s second in command.
Kagame only recognised the presence of Zanzibar’s leader Hussein Ali Mwinyi, and Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu. Then included the word others to represent all the other dignitaries.
“Today at Amaan Stadium, President Kagame is participating in the 60th Anniversary of the Zanzibar Revolution celebrations, joining H.E. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of Tanzania and other leaders from the region.”
This has sparked an online debate with the keen eyes of Netizens who have marked the post as ironic despite Gachagua being upcose and according to observers, there is no way they could fail to see him, it was intentional.
