A kenyan airline has issued an update after reports emerged that two local planes had collided mid air on Tuesday March 5th.
Initial reports by the kenyan airline indicated that the two airplanes had collided within Nairobi Airspace with one of the planes crash-landing in Nairobi National Park.
KCCA stated that investigations had commenced to determine what caused the collision involving a Cessna aircraft belonging to Ninety-Nines Flying School.

“Kenya Civil Aviation Authority wishes to confirm that an aircraft accident occurred at 10:05hrs involving a Cessna aircraft belonging to Ninety-Nines Flying School and a Dash 8 belonging to Safarilink Aviation Limited.”
“Investigations have commenced through various agencies led by the Air Accident Investigation Department (AAID) and the National Police Service to establish the cause of the accident.”
This was confirmed by the Diani-bound flight, which stated that it was compelled to turn back to Wilson Airport due to an emergency.
“We wish to report that this morning at 9:45 Local Time our flight number 053 with 39 passengers and 5 crew on board headed to Diani experienced a loud bang soon after take-off.”
The plane managed to land safely and inspection commenced on what could have caused the bang. Fortunately, all the 39 passengers and 5 crew members were reported safe.

Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) did not immediately issue a report on whether there were casualties following the crash of the light aircraft.
The relevant agencies have been notified and are investigating this incident,” the statement read in part noting the airline was helping with the investigations
It’s alleged that the light aircraft was for training purposes and more information is yet to be provided about the same.
