Kenya Power employee has been electrocuted to death in Trans Nzoia county today as he was going about his daily work schedule.
According to reports, the Kenya Power employee was replacing power lines from a rotten pole to a new pole when he was electrocuted at Kaplamai in Trans Nzoia county on Sunday, 24th March.
It’s not yet clear at the moment what led to the blunder and if the regular protocols were followed prior to the engagement to change the poles which includes switching off the main power line in the area of operation.

It is suspected that there was a miscommunication between the staff on the ground and the staff responsible for switching off the power grid during the time of operation leading to the unfortunate incident.
However, at the time of this article going live, the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) had not yet released an official statement over the same or revealed what led to the unfortunate incident.
This comes as the Kenya Power and Lighting Company continues to conduct their repairs across the country in a bid to improve power services and connectivity to various areas in different counties.
Police officers from the area have however taken up the issue and commenced the investigations into the matter to ascertain what happened that caused the incident.

The employee is however yet to be identified as kenya power is yet to release the official names of the victim who was involved in the sunday incident.
