Areas To Experience High Temperatures
The Kenya Meteorological Department has released a statement detailing the areas to experience high temperatures and hot days after Nairobians raised alarm of high temperatures in the city.
According to the MET department, the areas to experience high temperatures are expected to be experienced across several counties this week including Nairobi that will hit 31°C in the coming days.
The Tuesday statement confirmed that temperatures in the city and its neighbouring counties of Central Kenya will rise to 31 degrees and this will cause very high temperatures during the day in these areas.

According to reports, the MET department listed Tuesday, Thursday and Friday to be the hottest days of the week expected with the maximum projected temperature.
Residents have been advised to stay hydrated during the day and wear protective garments that will protect them from direct sunlight that can cause sub burns on the skin.
However, as days turn hot with high temperatures, most nights are expected to be cold with temperatures going as low as 6 degrees according to the Meteorological Department.
Counties Expected To Record Highest Temperatures.
This week, High average daytime temperatures above 30°C expected in various counties including:
Turkana, Samburu, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Isiolo, Garissa, Tana River, Lamu, Kilifi, Mombasa, Kwale, Taita Taveta, Kajiado, Makueni, Kitui, Machakos, Nairobi, Kiambu, Embu, Laikipia, Baringo

However, regions like Turkana and Samburu are expected to hit the most temperature to be recorded with the magnitude expected to hit 40°C.
“The expected high temperatures during the month in most parts of the country may lead to heat stress and heat-related discomforts. The public is therefore advised to hydrate appropriately and avoid working in the open, especially in the afternoons.”
Make sure to stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun’s rays during the hot days, and bundle up warmly for the cooler nights.
