Kenya Kwanza’s Agenda In Naivasha Retreat
Kenya Kwanza leaders are set for a two day retreat in Naivasha starting Sunday and the main kenya Kwanza’s agenda has been revealed ahead of the retreat.
The retreat which will begin with a meeting between the Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and the President will see the Members of Parliament join later on Monday.
However, details reaching the NewsProjector reveal that one of the main agenda of the retreat is to discuss the Opposition Leader Raila Odinga’s bid on the AU Chairperson’s bid that he announced interest in.
According to reports, this is a good sign for the rulling party as it will not only reduce the opposition’s harsh criticism of the government but will also reduce their chances in the 2027 polls giving the rulling party an upper hand.
That is why the Odinga’s bid at the AUs top job is an important discussion by the rulling party. This coming after the President directed the formation of the campaign team to help Mr. Odinga in his bid to snatch the Africa’s top seat.
A second agenda which will be accorded priority within the retreat will be the recommendations of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) Report.
The NADCO report made recommendations on the need to adjust the cost of living, an audit of the 2022 electoral process, and a restructure of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
The session is also expected to provide a platform for MPs and CSs to reconcile their differences seeing that some have engaged in public spats in the past.
However, in a dispatch issued on Wednesday, the cabinet stated that the retreat would evaluate their performance for all the ministries.
The retreat is expected to review the performance of all Ministries and State Offices and map out the priorities for the year 2024 that will be codified in the Ministerial Performance Contracts
