A day after the Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu released the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results, a couple of students have complained of errors in KCPE results.
The errors have been noticed in various subjects in the results. Various learners have noticed that they have marks meant for Sign Language instead of Kiswahili. While others have claimed to have only Insha marks in their results.
The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has confirmed the reports saying that they have received complains regarding the errors in the just released exams.

Parents and teachers of the affected candidates have so far written their complains to KNEC to ensure that the corrections are made and updated accordingly.
In the first screen capture, the candidate claims that he was awarded an 81 marks on KSL which is a sign language which he did not sit for. The Kiswahili part which he sat for is left empty without the marks.
In the second screen capture, a learner says that he was awarded a 29 mark on Kiswahili despite scoring highly in the other subjects. This he claims can be a case of being awarded only Insha marks and the lugha marks left out.
He is requesting the Examination body to look into the matter and check if his marks were correctly captured especially in Kiswahili. This shows there was errors in KCPE results.
Earlier, the Education PS Belio Kipsang said that the exams will be released earlier to ensure preparation of both the parents and the government for placement. This allows parents to prepare to take their children to high school as the government gets ample time for placement of learners.
