The Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has confirmed to the nation that the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results will be released on Thursday. The 2023 KCPE exam release should be therefore expected.
The CS said that the marking of examination papers is complete and release might be done before the end of this week. He added that placement to form one might be done before Christmas.
The exam shall be released from Mtihani house from exactly 8.00 Am to be presided over by Education CS, and officials like Kipsang who will be in attendance.
“We have done the marking and it is finished and we are going to release the KCPE exams anytime this week and most likely we will also be able to conduct the Form One placement before Christmas so that they can be joining Form One by at least the third week of January.”
Machogu said that the quick release and timely placements will allow parents ample time to prepare for admissions. This he said is in terms of resources for joining Secondary schools.

The 2023 class is the last KCPE class to sit for the 8-4-4 system as the Ministry of Education is phasing it out. This is in preparation to welcome the Competency based curriculum fully starting next year.
“We have had the 8-4-4 system for the last 38 years since 1985 and we now phasing out that system. The number of candidates that we had this year was higher than any other year previously 1,415, 315 candidates.”
Ezekiel Machogu also added that there was no cases of cheating in the 2023 KCPE/KPSEA exam release. However, he added that only six cases out of the 1,415,315 pupils who sat for the exams attempted to cheat.
Speaking about KCSE that is ending this week, Machogu insisted that the marking will start immediately. This is to ensure timely marking and deliver the results as soon as marking is done.
