Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza is on the spot once again after her Meru deputy Governor Isaac Mutuma accused the governor of forcing him to resign.
Mutuma cited instances where he was invited to county cabinet meetings only to receive threats from some people not set foot in it.
According to the Meru Deputy Governor, his life is in danger and his security has been withdrawn in what he terms as actions by the county management.

“Saying my life is in danger would be an understatement of what is there. One of my bodyguards has withdrawn and returned for redeployment. I am being pressured to resign. Things are escalating from bad to worse.”
Speaking when he appeared before the Implementation Committee of the Meru County assembly on Wednesday, the Deputy said that his office is being sabotaged.
Mutuma said that the Governor should focus on solving challenges of infrastructure, water connectivity, education, and job opportunities and not fighting him through threats and intimidations.
“The county management has ignored to implement six recommendations adopted by the County assembly. I have not appeared at those meetings because it would turn out to be an avenue for insults, embarrassment and bullying.”
The Deputy governor added that his office handlers are being mistreated with funds not properly released to his office for day to day activities.

“No fuel for my vehicle for mobility to attend meetings. No funds. They are yet to reinstate my PA and driver who were sacked. I was evicted from the spacious main office to corridors last year July and till to-date the office has no space for the secretariat and is not properly furnished.”
Backing him up, Nominated MCA Gacheri Muthuri also lamented over the frustrations the Deputy Governor has been going through.
“I share the frustrations of working without a vehicle for a whole month despite him being duly elected deputy governor.”
