This comes after a Nairobi court found Jowie Irungu guilty against Monica Kimani’s Murder that happened back in 2018. The judge said that using the evidence presented before her and the prosecution, she believes beyond reasonable doubt that the first accused, Jowie Irungu is directly involved in the murder.
“Therefore, it is the finding of this court that the prosecution has proved beyond a reasonable doubt all the ingredients of the offence of murder, the death that occurred, the cause of death and the person who committed that offence. It was not a case of homicide, It was unlawful. Therefore I find the first accused person guilty as charged herein of the offence of murder.”
However, through his lawyer Professor Nandwa, Jowie Irungu has confirmed that he will be appealing against the High Court decision to have the case re-evaluated as he is not satisfied yet.
The second co-accused, who is an ex Citizen tv anchor, Jacque Maribe was however acquitted of the charges against Monica Kimani’s murder with the court arguing that the evidence did not place her in the scene of the murder.
