A year after they jointly won the elections, deep rooted rivalries within kenya Kwanza, the President William Ruto’s camp that is threatening to shake the party and coalition.

Murkomen And Cherargei
The clash between Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has been a focal point of this internal strife.

Cherargei, a member of the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, openly criticised Murkomen for allegedly neglecting to provide job opportunities to local contractors on regional road projects.
This public spat emerged during a burial in Chesumei, Nandi County, in October. The discord persisted, occasionally playing out on social media through cryptic exchanges.
In November, Cherargei was ejected from the Senate chambers during Murkomen’s grilling. The confrontation unfolded as Cherargei protested being denied the opportunity to interrogate the CS, leading to his removal from the Senate at the direction of Senator Abdulkadir Mohamed Haji.

On December 8, Murkomen initiated legal action against Senator Cherargei, filing a case after the lawmaker accused him of corruption.

Senator Cherargei and Sports and Entertainment Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba feud started after the Senator rallied for Namwamba’s appearance before the National Assembly to address allegations of mishandling the Kenyan Sports sector.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria have engaged in a bitter exchange in various occasion with Gachagua poking Kuria on remarks on the high cost of fuel, emphasising the need for responsible communication.

Kuria has on the other hand claimed that the DP was orchestrating his removal from the Trade Ministry through social media and ommiting his name from the award winners during Jamhuri Day Celebrations.
These rivalries are deep rooted within the party and are threatening to shake the coalition moving to the 2027 polls.
