At least four people have been confirmed dead on Friday and two others seriously injured after the vehicle they were travelling in was hit by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Garissa.
According to reports, the victims were using a four-wheel drive car between Egge Dam and Bogyar along Dadaab-Garissa when the incident happened. Confirming thr incident, the police at the scene said that thr vehicle was badly damaged.
However, the injured were rushed to the nearest hospital for emergency treatment as the police continued to assess the situation.

Police reports indicate that the car was carrying 10 health officials on duty. The officials were conducting the Garissa County TB exercise in the area whrn the car drove by the Improvised Explosive Device that caused the damage.
This comes days after foreign countries gave travel advisory to their citizens in Kenya due to increase and intelligence information about terror attacks in the country especially during this holiday period.
Among the countries that gave travel advisory are Canada and the UK making Canada the latest country to issue the advisory.
However, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has confirmed to citizens that the government is doing all it takes to curb terrorism within our borders. This being the latest event to happen this year after several incidents in Lamu.
However, police continue to deal with thr al Shabaab militia group in the North Eastern region to ensure kenyans in the area are safe.
In October, two al-Shabaab militants were killed when a bomb they were setting up exploded on them in the Amuma area in the county.
Police said the two were placing the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on the main supply route used by security agencies and other motorists when it exploded.
