Majority Leader and top Rigathi Gachagua critic Kimani Ichung’wah has responded to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s nation address and called it a Sympathy Gimmick.
Speaking to the NTV after Gachagua’s address, Kimani Ichung’wah noted that Deputy President is cornered and there is concrete evidence against each allegations and that his move was aimed to evoke sympathy out of the public and the media.
“My quick reaction to the Deputy President Address is a delated public paint to the gallery gimmick. He tried to appeal to the court of public opinion, the judiciary and the media to support his sympathy seeking gimmicks. Same gimmicks he tried to do on Sunday at the church service in his compound.”

According to Ichung’wah, the Deputy President has refused to address the substantive issues forming the grounds of impeachment but instead, invoked his late brother in a bid to try and invoke sympathy from kenyans and Members of Parliament.
“I want to tell Rigathi Gachagua, that we are not on a Sympathy seeking mission. We (MPs) will look at the motion at the floor of the house and make a credible decision. The decision not to take questions was also a show of a man who doesn’t want to be held to account.”
On the issue of loans, Ichung’wah stated that Gachagua’s sons, previously, could not access a loan of Ksh 600,000 shillings were able to access loans of up to Ksh 600M in the two years their father was Deputy President.
