This comes after frustrations reported by kenyans trying to purchase tokens claiming that the messages are taking too long to pop in their phones after paying through the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) paybill number.
Responding to claims on Saturday, Kenya Power said that they are experiencing a technical hitch affecting token generation and post paid bill payment system. They went ahead and apologised for inconveniences caused.

This directs you to Kenya Power where you click Prepaid services option 1, then click Latest Token, Option 2 to get the token number.

Another option to access token number when experiencing message delays, one can use the KPLC online self service
WWith the KPLC online self service, one needs to enter his/her meter number and the portal will generate the latest payment to that meter and thus generate the token number when experiencing message delays.

- Select Bill/Token Query
- Select the Meter Number as the Search Criteria
- Enter your Meter Number
- Click Search to get the latest information about that meter.
- Take the Token number and input in your meter.
