How Kevin Kang’ethe Escaped: Kang’ethe Accused of killing his kenyan nurse girlfriend and dumping her body at a Boston Airport parking lot has escaped from police custody weeks after arrest.
Kang’ethe who’s arrangements were being made for his extradition to the US to face murder charges escaped on Wednesday 7th February from Muthaiga Police Station with police giving details on how he got away.
According to the police, a man claiming to be Kang’ethe’s lawyer visited the suspect on Wednesday afternoon where the two engaged in a brief session at the police station.

Due to the constitution provision that a lawyer can visit his client in police custody, the police granted the man’s request to see Kang’ethe. As is the norm, the officers escorted the suspect from his cell and took him to the Anti-Crime office, leaving the two men alone.
This is when Kevin Kang’ethe used the opportunity to leave the police station and escape leaving behind the man that was thought to be his lawyer behind without the knowledge of officers on duty.
Kang’ethe ran away just when the station’s commanding officer was chairing a meeting with all the anti-crime personnel and members of the inspectorate at her office.
However, upon realising how Kevin Kang’ethe escaped and the mistake that had happened, the police officers launched a pursuit of the suspect who had boarded a matatu on Thika road but could not trace him

Four officers who were on duty and the man claiming to be suspect’s lawyer were arrested and placed in custody waiting further interrogations to determine whether they had a hand in the Kang’ethe’s disappearance.
This comes after the US lauded the government for the arrest of the man and were in the process of extradition before the incident. They are yet to release the statement on the incident.
