New reports indicate how the police used CCTV footage from a nearby building in Eldoret to solve Benjamin Kiplagat’s Murder that happened on Sunday.
In a video circulating in all social media outlets, the athlete was speeding along Kimumu Junction in Eldoret at around 1:15 am, seemingly evading capture from his killers.
Kiplagat who was seemingly not in good shape according to the video, driving a black Toyota Hilux turned the corner at high speed and crashed into a ditch before his killers caught up with him.

Two men who were trailing him rushed to the scene and stabbed him to death, leaving him by the roadside. The two then hurriedly fleed from the scene to avoid being identified by neighbours who heard the commotion.
Police commander Stephen Okal confirmed that thr detectives used the footage to capture the two suspects in Uasin Gishu County and Trans Nzoia County respectively wearing the same clothes as those captured on CCTV footage.
According to police reports and records, the two are well known criminals who have been terrorising the members of the public but the motive of the murder is still in preliminary stages.

However, police believe that the athlete was drunk driving before hitting a motorcycle with his vehicle thus provoking his killers who proceeded with the violent act against him in retaliation.
The two prime suspects in the Benjamin Kiplagat’s murder will be arraigned in court today on Tuesday as they will be charged for the murder of the athlete.
