The High Court has issed orders for the immediate arrest of a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Governor and his former Deputy Governor.
According to reports, a Nakuru High Court on Monday ordered for the arrest of Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii and his former Deputy Governor John Barorot.
Reports indicate that the order was issued by Senior Principal Magistrate Peter Ndege after the duo failed to appear in court to testify in the ongoing Ksh1.1 billion Finland Education Programme scandal.

The two Uasin Gishu officials were highly linked to the Finland scandal, and were called to testify in the ongoing case. This arrest warrant comes barely a month after Deputy Governor John Barorot resigned as the Deputy Governor.
Alongside the arrest orders issued on 9th September, Magistrate Ndege has also summoned Mercy Tarus and Joel Koech, the star witnesses in the Finland case, to appear before the court on September 11, 2024.
These witnesses are crucial in the case against Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago and two others who are charged with the misappropriation of finances in the Finland saga.
Among those caught in the net of the arrest warrant include Hillary Ruto, Stephen Lel, and Edwin Lel,two of whom were previously bonded by the prosecution but failed to appear in court bringing the number to five.

The case has been experiencing delays over non-compliance by key figures including the top two County Officials who were expected to provide crucial testimony regarding the mismanagement of funds.
